Coated microsieves

Aquamarijn offers a variety of functional coatings on microsieves to improve their performance:

  • Hydrophobic and hydrophilic coatings to control wettability
  • Anti-fouling coating to repel proteins
  • Epoxy/carboxylic acid coatings to create bioactive surfaces

Description

Coatings are applied onto microsieves surfaces via chemical reactions forming covalent bonds.  The coatings cover the surfaces homogeneously, including the pore walls, but leave the pores fully open. Pore size and pore shape are remained.

The coatings can be used for tailored surface properties such as:

  • Hydrophobic
  • Hydrophilic
  • Anti-fouling (protein)
  • Bio-active (via epoxy/carboxylic acid groups)

The coating can be a thin monolayer of few nanometers or polymer layers of 10-50 nanometers.

At Aquamarijn, we work closely with our clients to create and to develop innovative concepts for using microsieves in specific applications. Feel free to contact us for any coatings on microsieves for your application. We are more than happy to support your research.
