Micro Filtration of beverages
Although there are many new filtration technologies for beer filtration, there is still no match for the fluxes obtained with Aquamarijn microsieves. The smooth surface and the chemical inertness of the membranes makes them insensitive to fouling, leading to long intervals between cleaning. moreover, the outstanding flux performance, yields extremely high fluxes at low-pressure operation. This reduces energy consumption and thus production costs.

When operated with back pulse technologies, the membrane is continuously being cleaned during filtration by breaking up the fouling deposit layer on the membrane. The effect is an even longer filtration cycle without the use of cleaning chemicals at very low power consumption.
With the low internal surface area of the membrane, cleaning is facilitated, but more important, adhesion of valuable proteins that characterize the beer is avoided.
